Chad Atwell2Continuing my podcast series addressing advice you wished someone had given you early in your career we talk with Chad Atwell.

Chad is the Director, Product Strategy – Human Capital Management at Oracle leading the strategy for Oracle’s Compensation Cloud working with clients and prospects to help create future product functionality. He is also a Faculty member at WorldatWork teaching C4 Base Pay Administration, C12 Variable Pay and C17 Market Pricing and has also worked with Aon, Qwest Communications, Chipotle Grill. Chad is certified for compensation, remuneration and as a Human Capital Strategist from HCI. Someone with that pedigree SHOULD be giving advice.

In this podcast, Chad and I talk about how he wished someone had told him that it was okay to ask for help.

As Chad explains… too often we start out in a new job thinking we can’t ask for help. We think that since they hired us to do a job we should know EVERYTHING about doing that job. But the truth is that even if you know the functions and the needs of the job – you may not know that processes of the company – or the politics. You need help. And you should ask for it. We explored why we don’t ask for help (hint – it requires us to be vulnerable and take a risk) and also talked about HOW to ask for help.

Another great discussion. And after doing this podcast I think this advice would apply anytime in your career.

Give it a listen and when done – check out our other podcasts.
